Christmas Letter 2010
Dear Members and Friends of Hardingville,
Many of you have seen the various You-Tube clips of the Hallelujah Chorus spontaneously performed in a large department store, mall, food court or public square. I have viewed several; send me an e-mail if you have not seen this phenomenon, pretty neat! I wonder how close this concept is to the spontaneity of the choiring angels that first Christmas morning. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,…. (Luke 2:13). The birth announcement of v. 11 awakened all of heaven to burst forth in praise singing, “Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
This outpouring of adoration may have been a song, or it may have come in the form of a chant. This was spontaneous! The celestial host had beheld the Glory of the Son through all eternity and now they see Him come in the flesh. May there be such “moments of wonder” in your heart this Christmastime that cause you to burst forth in praise for the Gift of God’s Son.
Allow me to personally invite you and your family to some special opportunities to rejoice with us this Christmas Season.
- Our annual Christmas Dinner will be Saturday night, December 18th, at 6 PM, and will be held at the church. Right after the dinner, we will move into the main auditorium for a special evening of Christmas music by three of our young people.
- On Sunday night, the 19th, we will have a very special Christmas Musical here at HBC. Our choir will present, “A Savior is Born.” There will be Adult and Children’s Choirs, dramatic readers, handbells, instrumental groups, and soloists. You will not want to miss this special evening of rejoicing in the birth of the Lord Jesus! Invite a friend.
We will have a special Christmas Eve Service on the 24th. Be sure to be with us! I wish you and your family a Blessed Christmas! Share the enclosed tract with a friend.
With warm greetings to all,
Mark Franklin, Pastor
