Friday Notes: December 23, 2011
A Few Notes:
- Christmas Eve Service at 7 PM [for 1 hour – Carols, special music and a Meditation]
- Christmas Day Service at 11 AM
- Our Choir will rehearse on Sunday at 10:45 in E-1
- Pray for various ones from our HBC family that are traveling
As we look ahead to the Lord’s Day, our choir will sing, a men’s ensemble will sing and there will be a special offertory. I will speak on Unwrapping Christmas in the morning service at 11. There will not be Sunday School or a 6 PM service.
I’ve been thinking …
The great unwrapping is yet ahead for many. There is a special joy to watch another unwrap a present that you give to them, especially children and grandchildren. While Liz and I do not exchange gifts, we enjoy watching our kids unwrap a gift. The responses are always interesting: they range from wow… to “this is nice”… and “what am I going to do with this.” On Sunday we will spend some time thinking through Luke 2:11 – the mystery has been revealed, unwrapped – the special baby has come; consider what is said about this One who is wrapped in swaddling clothes. We look forward to the Lord’s Day with you.
