Friday Notes: February 3, 2012

A Few Notes:

  • Our Youth Meetings will be tonight at 7
  • Bob Vanelli Sr. has a birthday on Monday…  send a card
[Pray for Rose and Bob during these difficult days]

As we look ahead to the Lord’s Day, our choir will sing and I will speak on God’s Use of Imperfect People in the morning service.   We will have songs, the Lord’s Table, and special music at our 6 PM service with the message, Going Home; Going On, from our study in Deuteronomy.

 I’ve been thinking …

The word “failure” has many negative overtones to it; not a pleasant word.  One of the reasons the Bible is trustworthy and accurate is that it records the failures of God’s people and not just the blessings and victories.  This reminds me of the adage “Men could not write THIS book if they would, and would not if they could.”  We will explore a few key lessons learned from the black sheep of the apostolic group.  For those of us who have experienced failure, take heart.  We look forward to the Lord’s Day with you.
