The Friday Notes is a weekly update written by Pastor in review of the week, or looking forward to the worship services on Sunday.

Friday Notes: May 27, 2011

A Few Notes:

  • Michael and Abbey will be married tonight at 6
  • Remember the HBC Family picnic at Lucases’ on Monday  [All are welcome].

As we look ahead to the Lord’s Day, I will speak on “Honoring Heroes” in the AM and will give the second part of a message on “400 years, a Tribute to the KJV.”  This will include a special Q & A session as well.

I’ve been thinking …

Summer is upon us as we begin the first major holiday of the season.  Whenever a hero is honored, there is always some defining moment that is memorialized.  Some may think of the defining moment at Iwo Jima, and that pictured forever etched in our minds.  Others may reflect upon some image from 911, just 10 years ago.  We will examine a defining moment from the story of Gideon in Judges 7 that really set him a part from all others as a true Bible hero.   Have a blessed holiday weekend – be sure to be with the Lord’s people on Sunday.

Have a great weekend,
