The Friday Notes is a weekly update written by Pastor in review of the week, or looking forward to the worship services on Sunday.

Friday Notes: July 15, 2011

A Few Notes:

  • VBS has ended.  The energy level was high all week with the boys and girls and young people and our staff did a great job.  I drove a van and sampled the refreshments each day.  A special joy was to have a young boy come to me today to tell me that he just got saved.  We rejoice in all that the Lord has been pleased to do through this week of ministry.  There are some pics up on the church website.
  • Liz and I watched our grandson Braydon taking a number of steps here at Andrew and Melissa’s, she will be busier real soon.
  • Young Adults:  There will be a Volleyball and Burger activity at 6 tomorrow.  RSVP Aziz at if you can attend {several already have].
  • Prayer items:   [1] Ben Ham leaves for the Philippines tomorrow, [2] Jake Talbot continues to make progress

As we look ahead to the Lord’s Day, I will speak on “The King and His Kingdom” in the AM and at 6 PM we will focus on two other points and then have an open Q & A on the subject of the Millennium.  We did this last month, many appreciated it.

 I’ve been thinking …

Scripture looks ahead to the glorious reign of our Lord Jesus Christ.  What will that one thousand year period of time be like as we experience a sort of utopia here on earth?  What will it be like to live in an environment where the curse has been removed?  The subject of Millennialism is not just one for the world of academia and theological intrigue.  It is based upon a system of Bible interpretation that affects many other areas of theology.  We will probe this element of Bible prophecy this Lord’s Day.

Have a great weekend.  I hope to see you on Sunday.
