A Few Notes:
- Jake Talbot’s surgery went well; the pancreas numbers are normal. Things are still “very delicate” and he needs prayer.
- Pray for families that are preparing for their young people to return to college.
- There will be a clean up/moving day at GCCS on Monday if you can help. I will be there at 8 AM, we should be able to take care of things by noon. Thanks in advance for those can lend a hand.
As we look ahead to the Lord’s Day, I will speak on the subject of “Death, the Afterlife, and the Believer” in both services on Sunday. After a final point on cremation at night, we will entertain a Q & A session on the sermon and topic. Amanda Harker will have a few special music selections in our evening service.
I’ve been thinking …
I do not want to lead this brief paragraph with the statement “I’ve been thinking about dying,” that would be alarming. It seems we think about it the most in a context of a funeral. This subject is one that believer’s need to be armed with a response to those who ask. Why do we have to die? What exactly happens at death? What about some of the questions that are pressed upon us by society? What about the afterlife? Have a great weekend. I hope to see you on Sunday, Lord willing.
