As we look ahead to the Lord’s Day, our choir will sing I will speak on Spiritual Priorities in the morning service from the book of Haggai. We will have songs, testimonies and special music at our 6 PM service with the message The Day of Commitment from our study in Deuteronomy.
I’ve been thinking …
I could not help but be reminded how the priorities of so many are out of whack when I saw the front page of the paper again today. Of all the items of business our NJ state legislators could deal with, there is this push or “shove” to get gay marriage approved in our state. Who is in charge of the priority list anyway?
The prophet Haggai brought a message to the exiles who returned from Babylon and he addressed the very issue of priorities. The many distractions and entertainments of life take us away from “first things.” This Sunday we will visit that very message from that prophet and make applications for our time. May God help us to ever examine where our priorities are and if necessary make adjustments. We look forward to the Lord’s Day with you; it is the highlight of my week.
