Special Guests: Ray & Ann Gibbs

Special Guests: Ray & Ann Gibbs

We welcome Ray & Ann Gibbs on February 18-19 for a weekend of special music ministry! They will host training for all church vocalists at a Vocal Seminar on Saturday at 10 am. On Sunday, Mr. Gibbs will teach a unique Sunday School elective, and they will sing special music for our Morning Worship. They will also present a Sacred Music Concert for our Evening Service at 6 pm. We hope that you will be able to take advantage to at least one if not all of these exciting events!

Vocal Seminar: You know you can “carry a tune” but wish you could sing better than you do. Welcome to the club! Here is your opportunity to listen and learn from the best. Ray and Ann Gibbs will be at HBC  to share their knowledge with you and help you sing better, regardless of your level. Please come prepared with a hymn to sing if you are called upon for an on-the-spot session. Just want to sit and “audit” the course? You are welcome! Please contact us if you plan to come.

Ray Gibbs earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice Performance and Conducting at San Diego State University, then went on to earn a Masters of Music degree in Opera Theater at Manhattan School of Music.  Mr. Gibbs has sung leading roles with many Opera Companies in Europe and North America including 11 years at the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York. He has served on the faculties of the University of Memphis and Pensacola Christian College.

Mrs. Ann Gibbs, Ray’s wife, is a graduate of Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of   New Mexico.  Mrs. Gibbs has sung with several opera companies such as the Santa Fe Opera, the Baltimore Opera, and the Houston Opera. Mrs. Gibbs taught along side her husband at Pensacola Christian College for 18 years.

After Mr. Gibbs was saved in 1980, the Lord soon took them out of Opera and put them into a traveling ministry, singing and striving to bring glory to God.  They have sung in churches all over America and in some foreign countries, giving their testimonies of how the Lord has worked in their lives.  Now they have retired from college teaching and have returned to traveling and singing for the Lord Jesus Christ.
