A Few Notes:
- Our Youth Meetings will be tonight at 7; it is waffles and ice cream night in King’s Kids – be sure not to miss it.
- FIVE new Adult Sunday School Classes will begin on Sunday; they are posted on the website and on the Back Page of the bulletin this week.
- The Senior Class of GCCS will sponsor a Chic-fil-A night at the new Mantua store on Monday night from 4-8 PM. Chic-fil-A will make a percentage donation of all sales to the class on that night; set that hamburger aside…
As we look ahead to the Lord’s Day, I will speak on Our Diligence Today, their Devotion Tomorrow. We will once again be in 2nd Peter and our choir will sing. If you have time, consider 2 Peter 2:15-21 before Sunday. At our 6 PM service we will conclude our series on Deuteronomy with the message Final Words from a Shepherd, from Deuteronomy 33.
I’ve been thinking …
Most of us are concerned about the next generation of the church. Those who are learning from us today will be the “leaders” tomorrow. I find myself drawn to 2nd Peter one more time for the Sunday sermon. Peter, knowing that his own death would be soon, was greatly concerned for the readers of his Epistle. This concern led him to personal diligence in the present with a concern for the future. Just think, the more we are burdened for those who come behind us, the next generation, the more diligent we should be today. Over the weekend, think about the effort that you are putting forth as you minister to young people in a variety of settings. May our hearts be stirred today as we consider our investment in the lives of others. We look forward to the Lord’s Day.
