Thanksgiving Letter 2012

Thanksgiving Letter 2012

Dear Members and Friends of Hardingville Bible Church,

The season of Thanksgiving is upon us.  We look forward to collecting food items for needy families, sharing with others, enjoying times of fellowship here at HBC, and counting our blessings before God and others.   Sharing what God has done reminds others that He is real and is at work in hearts and lives.

Think with me for a moment of what God has “shared with us.”  Temporal blessings come every day from the Lord.   He walks with us and speaks to us through His Word.   He will ultimately “share” His abode [heaven] with us forever.   I want to challenge you to think about this matter of sharing.   When we share with others in tangible things, God blesses us even more.  When we share the Gospel with an unbeliever, God is pleased.   When we share a positive word with a friend, God is honored.   Sharing is at the heart of this season of the year.   Ask God what you can do as a family to share with others.

I would like to personally invite you and your family to attend our Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, November 17th, beginning at 6:00 PM.  We will provide a number of turkeys for the main course and pork loin.   We would like each family to bring a covered dish or dessert to share.  On Thanksgiving Eve, November 21st, we will have our annual Pie ‘N Praise Fellowship.  Following a praise service in the sanctuary, we look forward to a special dessert time!  Bring your favorite pie to share; we will provide coffee and punch for all! We did have 56 pies in attendance last year.  This is always a sweet time for the HBC family, and I hope you will join us this year!

With gratitude for His goodness,

Mark Franklin, Pastor
