The Friday Notes is a weekly update written by Pastor in review of the week, or looking forward to the worship services on Sunday.

Friday Notes: December 7, 2012

A Few Notes to the Family:

  • The King’s Kids will meet tonight from 7-9; they will be touring at the Greenhouse tonight.  The Jr. High teens will have a Christmas party tonight at 7
  • Ladies Christmas Brunch is tomorrow at 10 AM.   Plan to be here.
  • We look forward to a baptism service on Sunday night.

As we look ahead to Sunday, I will speak on “Jesus and the Festival of Hanukkah” in the morning.  Our choir will sing and Hawley will also sing a solo.  At our 6 PM service, we will focus on baptism as we have 6 to baptize and the message will be “Why is Believer’s Baptism Important?” Linda Grover will provide special music.

I’ve been thinking …

How would you describe spiritual blindness?   So many people are yet in darkness and have not the knowledge of God.  There is no greater darkness than that of religious ritual.  Many are caught up in erroneous beliefs and think they are meriting favor with God.  In their darkness they continue year after year.  It is our task to point them to the Light that is found in Jesus Christ.   Perhaps this Christmas season, the Lord will give you opportunity to be used of Him to “open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins…”   (Acts 26:18).  I hope to see you Sunday.
