Dear Family and Friends of Hardingville Bible Church,
The world around us is seeking – seeking for what satisfies, seeking for peace, seeking for meaning. Two women in Matthew 28 were also seeking – seeking the body of their beloved Jesus. No doubt they were afraid and distraught over the events that happened over the last few days, ending in the torture and crucifixion of the One they thought was to be their Savior and King. Imagine the wonder and awe they felt in those hushed, quiet hours of the morning as they neared the tomb and realized that it was empty! Their fear turned to excitement and joy as the angel explained, “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said” (Matthew 28:6).
What a joy it is to know the amazing truth that our Savior has conquered death itself and lives! Because He lives we can be entirely satisfied in Christ; because He lives we can have peace with the Father; because He lives our purpose in life is complete! May we bid those who are seeking to view the empty tomb and meet the resurrected Lord as well.
As we prepare to celebrate this special time of the year, we would like to invite you to our 6:00 pm evening service on Palm Sunday, April 13th, for a special Easter Celebration program. Under the direction of David Hibbard, the HBC choir and small ensembles will present music and special readings about the glorious truth of the resurrection. Please join us as we lift our praise to Him who gave us His all. Invite a friend!
On Easter Sunday, April 20th, we will have Dr. E. Allen Griffith as our speaker for both the 11 am morning worship service as well as our evening service at 6 pm. This will be a special time for us as God’s people to remember and to rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord through music and the preaching of His Word. Plan on being with us for Sunday School beginning at 9:45 am. We wish you and your family a blessed Resurrection Sunday this year!
