Thanks for move-in

We had over 50 people come at some point to help the Saxtons move into the parsonage Monday. The truck was empty before the hour, and even some of the disassembly and assembly work was begun. We enjoyed some pick up pizza afterwards and had a good time of fellowship. Praise the Lord for such a successful time and safe arrival!

Looking ahead

On Sunday, Pastor Saxton will share a message entitled Walking by Faith When Others Only See Obstacles"" from 1 Samuel 17 at our Morning Worship and another called "A Call to Continue in Faithfulness to Christ" from Acts 20:17-38 for the Evening Service. We rejoice in the Saxtons' first Sunday at HBC.

FFBC Annual Conference

Pastor Smith, National Representative, attended the Annual Conference of the Fellowship of Fundamental Bible Churches at Tri-State Bible Camp this week. The conference celebrated its 75th anniversary.  Pastor Frank Sansone prepared a visual presentation which highlighted our history from 1939.  Dr. Marty Marriott, President of Maranatha Baptist University, was the conference speaker.  His strong Biblical messages were an encouragement and challenge to both pastors and laymen.  Pastor David Field, who serves as chair of the Resolutions Committee, presented three resolutions in the conference sessions.  Pastor Smith will share them during Current Events in Sunday School this week.

Sr. Saints' Picnic

We will be gathering for our annual picnic at the home of Dale and Pat Williams next Thursday, August 21 at 12 pm. We always look forward to it, and they are gracious hosts. If you plan to come, please sign up and indicate the dish that you will bring. The meat will be provided by the church. If you need directions, pick up a form at church.

Summer servants

Over the next few weeks, we hope to hear from various students who had special opportunities for ministry over the summer. We will be blessed to hear of how God was at work. Many of them and others will be heading back off and away to school in the coming days. Be in pray for them as they continue along in such crucial moments of life.
