SS promotion combination

It’s time for Promotion Sunday in Sunday School on Sunday! Students of all ages will meet in the Main Auditorium for an opening and a presentation of each class. Pastor Saxton will be teaching a combined class for the fall quarter that will include all adults and high school teens. The study will be “Life in the Father’s House: Understanding Your Role in the Local Church.” Come join us!

Looking ahead

On Sunday, Pastor Saxton will share a message entitled “Appreciating Undershepherds, While Trusting in the Great Shepherd” at our Morning Worship, and Pastor Smith will bring a meditation on “Manners at the Lord’s Table” for the Evening Service.

Dedication Ceremony

All friends of GCCS are invited to attend a special dedication ceremony of the new High School Building at 1 PM in the chapel. This facility is being dedicated in memory of Mark Franklin and to note his commitment to Christian education. Representatives from both the Building Committee and School Board will share comments along with contributions from students and faculty. You will have opportunity to tour the building as well.

GCCS starts and stats

We are enjoying an increased enrollment in our student body at Gloucester County Christian School with a total of 393 full-time students. Most of our grades are full or near full. God is to be praised for these good numbers. We are thankful for a great start to the 2014-2105 school year as we celebrate 50 years of Christian education at GCCS. No, Mr. Netz was not there at the beginning.

Youth Worker & Parent Meeting

We’re gearing up and getting ready for another great season of youth group! The start date is September 19th at 7 PM. This Sunday after the Evening Service, we will have a brief adult meeting about youth group. If you are a parent of a teen or worked in Junior or Senior High youth group last year, we encourage you to attend since there are changes to the schedule and the emphasis for this year. We look forward to seeing you there!

Children’s church changes

Parents of young ones, please note the new Children’s Church age groups being intiated on Sunday. Those children ages 3-5 will go directly to A-2 following Sunday School for an opening while grades K-2nd should meet in the Main Auditorium and will be dismissed during the time of congregational greeting to go to their class in A-6. This will accommodate other changes being made in the Nursery, which will be detailed next week.

Sent to 205 addresses of the HBC family.

“Weekend Additions” is simply a means for sharing additional details & highlights of news & events at HBC.
