Tri-State Teens

Pastor Blaze and a group of teens will be at Tri-State Bible Camp overnight for a winter retreat! Pray for safety in travel and for the campers, staff, and sponsors as they enjoy the weekend. Especially remember the speaker, Adrian Burden, and the sessions of biblical challenge. King’s Kids, it’s still cold out there – don’t forget to wear as many layers as possible tonight!

Saturday Seminar

There’s still time to plan to attend the Men’s Conference tomorrow – just meet us at 9 am in the Assembly Room. Men, we hope you will join us and be challenged from God’s Word in regard to living a life that truly honors Him. Also, there is a luncheon for widows at Noon at Lane Bodine’s – come for the food and fellowship!

Looking ahead

On Sunday, Pastor Saxton will share a message entitled “Making Your Home a Center for Christian Discipleship” from Ephesians 6:1-4 at our Morning Worship and another called “Jesus, Friend of Sinners and Enemy of the Self-Righteous” from Mark 2:13-17 for the Evening Service.

David W. Saxton, Author

Did you know our Pastor is now officially published? Though he’s written various journal articles in the past, he recently added his first book: God’s Battle Plan for the Mind: The Puritan Practice of Biblical Meditation. You can find the Kindle edition on Amazon here. At this time, a physical copy is only available from the publisher, Reformation Heritage Books, here. We will also have some available for purchase at HBC soon!

From the author: “I trust that this book will be used mightily in the lives of God’s people to renew their minds to be more like Christ.”

God’s Battle Plan for the Mind

Pastor Saxton also had a live interview about the book yesterday morning. It was with Kevin Boling on the “Knowing the Truth” radio program based out of Greenville, SC. You can listen in here or directly on SermonAudio here.

Sent to 211 addresses of the HBC family.

“Weekend Additions” is simply a means for sharing additional details & highlights of news & events at HBC.
