150th Anniversary Celebration

As a testimony to God’s wonderful grace and faithfulness to his people, we would like to announce that on June 13-14, 2015, Hardingville Bible Church will celebrate its 150th year of meeting as a congregation for worship, instruction, edification, and evangelism.
It was only two months after General Robert E. Lee surrendered to General Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Courthouse – thus ending the American Civil War – when a small group of believers began gathering for worship at a small New Jersey crossroads called Hardingville. Over the years many faithful Bible teachers, pastors, deacons, and church members have faithfully served the Lord and provided a firm foundation for future generations of God’s people.

We cordially invite all of our church family and friends near and far to be a part of the two-day celebration of God’s generous mercies to us as a local church these 150 years.

On Saturday, June 13, at 5:00 p.m., we will host an old-fashioned dinner, complete with a pig roast, tasty barbecued chicken, and all the fixings. An informal music concert will follow the meal, featuring the vocal and instrumental talents of several of our church members. There is no cost for this dinner; we simply want to provide an enjoyable evening for everyone. We are encouraging everyone to dress for the occasion with old-fashioned clothes. We hope you find this to be a time of warm fellowship, reconnection with old friends, and remembering the past.

On Sunday, June 14, Dr. Bob Jones, III, and his wife, Benneth, will be our special guests for the 150th Anniversary Lord’s Day services. Dr. Jones will be speaking for Sunday school at 9:45 a.m., for our morning worship service at 11:00 a.m., and for our evening service at 6:00 p.m. The evening service will also include a historical presentation about our church, complete with photos, and some of our long-time members will give testimonies.

Please join us for this weekend of remembering the Lord’s faithfulness to Hardingville Bible Church. If you plan to attend the Saturday evening dinner and concert, please contact the church office by Monday, June 8.
