Adult Ministries

"From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love" - Ephesians 4:16

As a church, ministry to the entire family is essential. We have a number of special adult ministries at Hardingville; some occur on a monthly basis while others are seasonally announced. There are many opportunities to get involved here at HBC for fellowship, encouragement, and outreach!

Ladies’ Bible Study

Every Tuesday there is a Ladies' Bible Study hosted at the home of Lane Bodine. The study is lead by Liz Franklin. Currently the group is working through the book of Mark with study helps from Warren Wiersbe's, Be Diligent.

Men’s Breakfast Ministry

The Men’s Breakfast Ministry is a monthly meeting on Saturday mornings during the school year. After a hearty breakfast, two men share a word of testimony. These testimonies are practical demonstrations of the power of God to change a man’s life. Afterwards, Pastor brings a pointed Gospel challenge for just a few minutes and we are out by 9 AM. This is an excellent opportunity for fellowship with other men and a way to introduce men to their need of the Gospel. Visitors are encouraged to attend and many of our men invite others.

Nursing Home Ministry

Nursing Home Ministry

The Nursing Home Ministry is a special opportunity for compassion to people. We presently hold a service at an area location on every fourth Sunday. Several are involved from HBC each month,  and all are welcome to serve. You could join us to give a Bible message, share a testimony, sing  special music, play an instrument, offer words of encouragement, or just help the residents find their page in the hymn book. The residents always enjoy singing the old hymns and love to hear from young people. Those who serve take an opportunity to talk with these folks and are always ready to share the Gospel.

Seasonal Ministries

Seasonal Ministries at HBC are always indicated on the church calendar and in the weekly bulletin. These include: a Wild Game Supper, Adult Fellowship Dinners at special restaurants, a Spring Ladies’ Brunch, a Family Picnic on Memorial Day, Vacation Bible School, a Men’s Fishing Trip to Canada, the HBC Open, a variety of trips and outings for ladies, Mission Trips, a Fall Family Festival, a Bible Conference, a Missions Conference, a Pie ‘N Praise Night, a Christmas cantata, various church dinners and much more.

Senior Saints

The Senior Saints’ Ministry is led by Pastor Smith and meets on the third Thursday of each month for a luncheon in Harmony Hall. The meal is provided by the church and prepared by some ladies who serve in this ministry. After an enjoyable luncheon, there is always a program in the Assembly Room for our seniors to enjoy. In the summer, the group enjoys a picnic one month and goes out to a restaurant the other. Our senior group also meets at a different diner every month for breakfast and fellowship. From time to time our Senior Group will also have a special outing or activity.

Young Adult Fellowship

Our group of young adults at HBC get together each month for activities of fellowship and fun. These times are a great way to connect for those facing a similar stage of life. We also regularly offer a Sunday School class for the young adults in the church specifically dealing with the challenges facing their generation. This group includes college-aged students, young marrieds, singles, and those with young families. Check the church calendar for our next event.

Young Mothers’ Time Out

The Young Mothers’ Time Out is a meeting at the church for mothers with babies or pre-school children at home. Erika Merkle leads this ministry. This group meets once a month from 10:00-11:30 am. A nursery and child care are available each time. The young mothers have some interactive discussion and challenge from the Word. There is light snack for all to enjoy. Often some “more mature” ladies from HBC are guests at this meeting, and the younger women have an opportunity to interact with years of experience.
